Work

About my current and past work.

IT Architecture

I work in the central integration architecture at Credit Suisse. Our main responsibility is the definition of global standards for IT system integration within our enterprise and making sure that these standards get implemented across projects. To ensure adherence to standards, we work together with projects and also apply central governance mechanisms. Integration themes covered by our team include service-oriented architecture, business process management and desktop integration.

IT Consulting

While at [ipt], I contributed to projects at different client companies (e.g. in insurance and energy domains) and held client trainings in the following areas:

Research at IBM and Dissertation

Most of my publications are available via my DBLP entry

My PhD dissertation "A Framework for Integrated Process and Object Life Cycle Modeling" deals with integrating two different perspectives of modeling business operations: a process perspective and an object perspective. In insurance for instance, one needs to model the steps of the claims management process on the one hand and the life cycles of the claim and payment business objects on the other hand. Creating such models independently may lead to inconsistencies. The dissertation presents an approach for keeping such models consistent.

During my PhD, we also developed a tool called Object Life Cycle Explorer to validate the proposed approach. This tool is a set of Eclipse plug-ins for the IBM WebSphere Business Modeler and can be freely downloaded from IBM alphaWorks. It was used to carry out two evaluation case studies, as described in my dissertation.
